Hey gang! Since we're starting with a clean slate I figured it would be good to refresh the palette on the moderation list; basically this topic will be used to pitch future mafia games - we'll keep an official schedule list so that things don't get cluttered! There will be no formal grading scale for pitches, but any disputes will be brought to the Grail or Avalon or even higher if need be!

    NOTES:
    1. A ready or near-ready mafia game is required for a pitch. Taking too long between pitch approval and player registration topic could result in your game being skipped.
    2. Host inactivity could negatively impact your score the next time you make a pitch, and in extreme cases result in your game ending prematurely.
    3. If you plan on hosting a game of mafia I strongly recommend you read over IB's thoughts on mafia game design topic. This is basically required reading for how to host mafia. I'd also recommend looking over the mafia wiki for role ideas!

    • Roxy's Disney Magic Mafia - Town Victory

My mafia is ready to roll whenever. If Jan's is ready by the time alola mafia is done, he should go first, but if not we can do mine in the meantime.

Overwatch mafia, it's like mafia with more Overwatch, more killing, and more protectors.

There are 3 factions; Talon, The Junkers, and Overwatch.

Overwatch is the standard town, with the majority population and no communication.

Talon is the mafia, with full communication.

The Junkers are a duo, whose only goal is to survive. If one were to perish, the other will join one of the other two factions and gain their win conditions. They have no nighttime communication, but know each others identities.

    "This ain't no democracy"

A mafia with a simple Middle Ages theme and a simple bank of roles, but a much different daytime gameplay concept. The village has been infiltrated by assassins from a rival feudal Lord and must root out the Intruders. But in a kingdom, there's no voting, and the only voice that matters... is that of the King.

Each day, the villagers may argue and attempt to convince the king on who to execute, but the King must make the final decision, and the person they execute will always be the one who dies. If the king does not Execute a player during the day, the villagers rise up and kill the King for his inaction.

The King changes every day, and is decided by a player who has the secret role of Kingmaker. They are a member of a secret society that plans out who rules the many kingdoms in the land. They will send a first and second choice (in case the first pick is nightkilled), and that player becomes King for the next day. If the Kingmaker is killed, a new Kingmaker will be chosen from the remaining villagers. The Kingmaker must be very careful to avoid accidentally electing an assassin as king, or things could become very bad very quickly!

The assassins must blend in and try to act like villagers as much as possible so the Kingmaker makes the mistake of choosing them as king, while getting rid of high profile targets at night. If the Kingmaker makes you King for a day, it's like getting an extra kill! But if you try to kill the Village Hero, you might be met with some resistance...

That's pretty much it. There's only 4 role types: villager, kingmaker, hero, assassin, with the "King" role being a status that one has during the day. All villager roles are totally vanilla but may become king during the day, or become kingmaker in the event of the kingmaker's death. The mafia is also totally unclued, so a smaller ratio of mafia to town will occur to compensate for these things.

    "The Dark Dragon's Curse"

A Fire Emblem Awakening-themed mafia PACKED with roles which means more killing, more protecting, more deception, and more fun in a very fast-paced game.

This will be a semi-clued mafia, meaning (in this case) that the town start out unclued, but recieve clues following each death. This serves to sort of balance out the fact that town has so many roles. (more on that further down the pitch)

There are 4 factions, Grimleal, Ylisse, Serial Killer, and Jester (not referred to as SK and jester, respectively) whose win conditions will be different. The Grimleal is mafia, with full communication, and Ylisse is standard town.

This game of mafia does have a focus on character names, and knowledge of the game will help in deducing roles. In service of this, nobody can explicitly roleclaim, but instead, they can name-claim, claiming the name of the character for whom they are playing. The role associated to the name is left up to each player's interpretation.

There are a total of 11 town roles, enough vanilla townies to accomodate any size of game, 2 independent (belonging to separate factions), and a small handful of traditional mafia roles. Some roles carry minor forced speech, occasionally pertaining to usage of abilities. Some roles may go unused per the amount of players.

Additionally, there will be no second-generation characters (not even Lucina) because fuck that plot-ex-machina noise.

My pitch? It's the sequel to the most non-meta mafia game yet. While everyone else has themes that players could deduce roles and alignment from early, I make a game that requires a little but more thought and a lot more zaniness.

The last game featured a drama llama, sonic the serial killer, and various other forms of ridiculousness for the entertainment of the players. All jokes, shade, and savagry are tongue-in-cheek and I hope the sequel is as good or better than the first. And no, it don't make no Goddamn sense.
