I don't think 'usurpers' was the word you were looking for, but as you ponder whether it was or not, you hear a great commotion from well up ahead. Checking through binoculars, you can see the bridge in question-- as a large section of concrete crumbles into the ocean! That's no good! You could take the land bridge around to it, but that will take a while, and these crazy criminals might have done too much damage by the time you get there. The fastest way is straight across the ocean, either swimming or flying, but the waves look a bit choppy and a little more dangerous. Why do you try? |

Eh... I disagree. My dictionary says a usurper is "to seize and hold (a position, office, power, etc.) by force or without legal right"; these guys are just breakin' a bridge. *ahem* Semantics aside, your plan has a fatal flaw; ocean water is salty, and salt water is much more difficult to freeze. Though Glaceon could make a thin layer of ice over the top of it, it was frail; your first step on the pathway caused it to collapse immediately, and you wound up getting most of your lower body soaked for your troubles. Creating an ice bridge isn't going to work so well. But you're a Ranger, you know. You were given a Styler. And taking that into consideration, you begin to notice the local Pokémon: a flock of Pipun and Pipawk, another flock of Floquila and Flockateal. Nearby, there is a small group of Lapri playing in the water. And on the beach nearby, two Psibian sunning themselves. Your Styler can't handle the Pipawk or Flockateal, but maybe you could make use of some of those Pokémon...? |

OOC: true, but i didn't get to see the native pokes...and you forget i can't do Floquila either... "hmm...the pipun, and Psibian might not be able to support me...hmm...alright, let's try out those Lapri..." Nyte said, silently releasing his capture styler...unlike a lot of the news reels he'd seen of Rangers, he decided to go with a more subtle approach...He figured that being all showy, and flashy about it would scare them, and make it even harder to style them...Anyway, the styler headed for the group of Lapri...Nyte silently started twirling his styler around in a pretty round circle...now to see if it worked... |

Unfortunately, your styler was too fatigued to catch a Psibian. The two Lapri and the Pipun are all you've got for the time being. Right now it looks like the waters are a bit too rough to swim through, so land may be the best option. But that burning log that just fell down... Fatigue Level- 90% Exp. The Lapri had little trouble putting out the fire, and you were left with a large, partially burned (but mostly alright-looking) log. Pipun flew into the air and flapped its wings to make a powerful gust, but as could probably be expected a powerful Pipun Gust was still nowhere strong enough to blow a person and some Pokémon anywhere. |

The combination of Pipun's wind power and Lapri's Water Guns turned out to be more effective, if still a bit slow; the little Lapri and Pipun just didn't have that much power behind them. Still, you were in motion now, slowly approaching the bridge. There's still a flock of Flickadee and Floquila nearby. |

Swift actually didn't help much. Made you look a bit cooler though.  anyway, as you went all slow across the water, the weather took a turn from the worse. That, and a random-as-hell Orclata just ramming your boat. Not good times. |

He meant it was too exhausted to do so...Anyway, his cool style didn't help much...Also, the random Orclata was annoying..He had Pikablu fry it with Charge Beam....He figured he could handle the bad weather... |

Pikablu struck it with a charge beam, and the Orclata, deciding that it liked its prey to be a little less... well, charged with electricity... it dove away under the waves. Unfortunately, it had scared away both of the Lapri, leaving you with a Pipun, a log, and a good chunk of sea to traverse. |

well, he's also got very high attack, and he's on the log, and using curse so his attack goes up, so his slow paddles will push us farther...so yes...

what else can i do? all i have styled is pipun, none of my current pokes can help...except....maybe....yeah, that could work...though it will hurt...sigh... "Sora, Shadow ball directly below us" he thought the blast would send them flying across the straight... |

Glaceon looked at you. Looked directly down. Looked back. Tilted his head. He didn't seem to quite get the gist of your strategy. For in his mind: Shadow Ball was an insubstantial attack and wouldn't have an effect on your physical location. It would also break the log. And that wouldn't help much. Maybe you should be a little more specific to your intentions. I think I know what you mean, but this is the first inclination I got from your idea, so I really don't know quite what you're looking for. huh....weird....i could have sworn that when a shadow ball hits something, an explosion occurs...i've seen it happen before...by another trainer, used it as a tatctic against a floating Wigglytuff... Nyte sighed, seing as this was pointless...he shrugged, and floated idly back to land, and headed for the land route.... |

They really aren't, actually; both Gorphibius and Goloth easily outspeed them. Outspeed them enough that Gorphibius hit Glaceon with a powerful enough blast of Confusion to faint the ice fox, and Goloth struck with a snappy bite before Pyroo could fire off the Flare Beam that narrowly failed to kill Gorphibius, who regained power from the seeds. Goloth was bitten immediately upon arriving, and Pikablu was on the receiving end of an Absorb attack. Nyte called, Putting a potion on Goloth, and having it try for another Ice Fang...He wasn't sure how the enemy's thunder fang hurt Goloth, seeing as electric moves don't affect Ground/Rock types... You know what, I'm not sure of how Thunder Fang hurt Goloth either. Ohwait. Goloth is pure Rock. Next time, please fact-check, it only takes a minute. Also, just letting the next mod remember, he can't use an item and attack on the same turn, so this turn, Koaleaf will switch in to attack while Goloth is healed. Well, like I said before, Goloth is pure Rock. Anyway, in Double Battles, you can only make two moves. Like, attacking twice, or healing and attacking, etc.  So you healed Goloth as Koaleaf tried to attack. That being said, Fire Fang raped Koaleaf pretty well.
