Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law Since the day they was born. Straightenin' the curves, flattenin' the hills.... Someday the mountain might get 'em but the law never will. Makin' their way, the only way they know how... That's just a little bit more than the law will allow. Just two good ol' boys, wouldn't change if they could, Fightin' the system like two modern-day Robin Hoods... Five! This was it. The grand stage. The top of the heap. The cream of the crop. The _____ of the _____. Whatever you want to call it, it was big. Many people had walked through those hallowed halls and emerged an icon, a Champion. Now it was her turn to join the ranks of the elite. As soon as she opened those doors, she'd be facing the challenge of her life....you know, the controlled challenge of her life, as opposed to various legendary Pokémon and monsters attempting to eat her face. This would be a test of her skill and strategy, and that of her team. It was time to walk through those doors and show them what she could do.... "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, THEY'RE NOT ACCEPTING CHALLENGES???" "Sorry, missy," the security guard stationed in front of the door calmly repeated, "but the Orange Islands Elite Four is not taking challengers at the moment. They're finishing up deliberations about how to handle the aftermath of that fiasco with Solipsus, and attempting to colaborate with the Zeralis Elite Four to figure out where to go from here. Come back in a few hours, they'll probably be out by then." With a huff and a groan of exasperation, Senna stormed off, wandering around various shops posted around the island, muttering incoherently to herself. Nobody could hear what she was saying, but everyone she walked past could tell that she was seething. Everyone, that is, except one guy. "Hey, miss!" the weird guy in the pink-and-purple jogging suit called out to Senna as she stomped by. Senna turned around and glared at him. "What are the chances you'd like to join my Club?" "About the same as a Snorunt's chance in a volcano," Senna spat. She prepared to turn around and keep going. "Wait! This isn't some dumb kid's club. We're a collective of trainers devoted to the training of so-called 'supernatural' Pokémon; those that are the gifted in the mystic arts." Now this was something that caught Senna's attention. A whole collective of them, eh? There were plenty of these nutcases and whackjobs that loved Psychics and Ghosts. If they were all part of some club....they could prove valuable allies if Senna were to find herself in a potentially dangerous situation, which wasn't particularly unlikely. "So how do I get in?" "Just give me 2500p, and then you'll have to beat me in a battle with a mystic Pokémon of your own." Senna grimaced. Of course there was a joining fee. Still, at least it wasn't that big, and she had change to spare thanks to the ample reward she'd received for her part in defeating Solipsus. Shrugging, she tossed the weirdly-dressed Club member a bundle of bills roughly equal to 2500p, and called out Stella, who stood majestically in the afternoon sunlight, the rays hitting her horns and causing them to glow a brilliant orange. She waited in anticipation, ready for all who dared to challenge her strength. "Hit me with your best shot, Club boy." ooc: Cueing Club initiation battle, using Gazalaxy. |

[65]  253/253 [-1 Atk][65] 92/279Stella launched a powerful Dark Pulse after being intimidated by the sight of a giant totem pole, and the Totower must have been blinded or something, because the sharp pointy rocks it launched hit Senna, not Stella. Edited by Noir, Feb 21 2010, 11:38 AM.

"Ah!" Senna cringed in pain as the sharp rocks hit her, one of them leaving a long, bloody gash along her arm. It hurt. A lot. First my nose, now my arm. Why the hell don't I bring around a Pokémon with healing abilities? Alright, that's it, that tower's going down -- hard. Gritting her teeth, Senna shouted, "blast it as hard as you possibly can, Stella! Put everything you've got into one more Dark Pulse!" |

It was enough. Totower collapsed on itself, and the man recalled his Pokémon, burning bright red as he did so. "I'm so sorry," he said quickly. "I didn't mean-- that shouldn't have happened--" Stella gains 75% experience! Stella grows to level 66! You gain 650P for winning! Congratulations, you're now a member of the Secret Supernatural Society! |

Not really watching as Stella demolished Totower, Senna was busy rapping a large piece of cloth around the wound (it proves useful to be prepared and carry an emergency bandage or such around, instead of having to rip off half your shirt to stop the bleeding). The cloth soon turned pink, but it didn't darken. Evidently the wound had been shallow, seeing as the bleeding had already stopped. With that seemingly taken care of, Senna finally looked up and saw Stella standing over the smoldering remains of the totem pole. Standing up with some degree of effort (you'd be surprised how much you need your arms to pull yourself up from a kneeling position, and doing so with one arm is much harder), Senna walked over to the defeated trainer, grabbed the prize money and the membership card that granted her access to Society stores, and had Stella use her psychic powers to lift Senna up onto her back. Stella then galloped off for the nearest *** A few hours later, the overly-generic Nurse Joy with her overly-generic red hair gave Senna a generic clearing to leave. Stretching her arm, Senna saw that it was fine, save for a small white scar running along the length of where the rock had gashed her, and maybe a spot of dry blood still sitting on her elbow. Joy's Blissey had done a pretty bang-up job healing the gash. Before leaving the Center, Senna went over to a PC and logged on to the SSS's online store and purchased a Shadow Ball TM, which she then gave to Eos to master the technique. Thankfully Eos was a very fast learner, and, having learned the attack within about 10 seconds, took the now-empty disc and crushed it between her teeth, melting the remains into pure metal to help fuel her inner furnace. Hoping the fire would keep burning stronger for their battle with the Elite Four, Senna left Eos out of her pokeball as she strode back to the stadium that housed the E4, the small Fire-type walking along beside her, hiccuping a little as she tried to digest the molten metal. A few minutes of excited jogging later, Senna was there again. Obviously their deliberations were over and they were taking challengers, because the large glass doors had been pushed all the way open, and the security guard stood off to the side, and only nodded at Senna as she walked inside. ===================================================== Chapter 1 - We Will Rock You Buddy you're a boy make a big noise Playin' in the street gonna be a big man some day You got mud on yo' face You big disgrace Kickin' your can all over the place We will we will rock you We will we will rock you! Four! As Senna walked into the vast expanse of the stadium, she saw an old guy on a Hoveround sitting in the other battler's box on the other side of the stadium. "Amerac? What are you doing here?" The man looked quizzical for a brief instant, then rasped, "my name's Joshua. I'm the first of the Elite Four. Are you ready to battle?" He must have had a mic, because in spite of how quiet the rasp was, it boomed out of the loudspeakers placed all over the stadium. He wasn't fooling around; it was high time to fight. Senna nodded and took her place in the Challenger's Box. The old man - Joshua - pressed a button that triggered a mechanical arm on his wheelchair that grabbed a pokeball off one of the spokes of a wheel of a chair (where 5 others were placed, attached to different spokes) and flung it into the air, revealing the form of a large shark which was partially buried in the sand that had covered the battlefield. A Sharoglyph. Now it was Senna's turn to choose a Pokémon. Twitching ever so slightly, Senna grabbed Ty's pokeball and threw it out, where it popped open and released the massive sea serpent from within. Ty turned her gaze toward the land shark and let out a vicious roar of challenge. The Sharoglyph growled menacingly in return, accepting the challenge. Gyarados came in and smashed the Sharoglyph with its tail. The attack nailed Sharo between the eyes and it dropped like a rock. The sandstorm the shark whipped up began to get on Gyara's nerves though... [66]  247/263[Sandstorm] |

His head hung low in defeat, the old man pressed another button on his Hoveround, and the motorized device whirred as its wheels began to turn, backing slowly out of the arena and into the dark corridor beyond as the sandstorm kicked up by Sharoglyph dissipated. Senna breathed in deeply, her nasal passages finally freed from that horrible old-person smell. Senna took out a Hyper Potion and emptied its contents over Lindorm's body in a soothing chemical spray, healing the dragon's battle wounds. She then recalled Lindorm back into his pokeball to finish the healing process and get focused and prepared for the next stage of the battle. Her gaze turned towards the tunnel through which the Hoveround had exited (only to enter another area of the Stadium to accept a challenge from Novi, but Senna had no way of knowing this, since she couldn't hear the cheers of the packed arena on the other side of the stadium over the deafening emptiness of her own), expecting the next Elite Four member to come walking out through said tunnel. She couldn't have been more wrong. Senna looked up as a thunderous cranking of gears cut through her thoughts. She watched in wide-eyed astonishment as the roof of the stadium retracted, opening up to the blue sky above. Squinting, Senna was just barely able to make out a speck of light somewhere up there amidst the blue....and then she didn't have to squint. The speck was growing. Senna gasped as the speck took the shape of an enormous fireball, rocketing down towards the arena. She turned away, her hands over her head to attempt to shield herself from the flames. She cringed, preparing to be hit by the blast as the fireball hit the ground. The arena was engulfed in a blinding flash.... And Senna was fine. She blinked and stopped cowering, turning to look in front of her. She saw a somewhat older woman, probably about 40, dressed in a flamboyant, vibrant red dress, with icy blue eyes and hair that appeared to have been dyed a deep ocean blue. The woman was standing opposite to her in the arena....right where Joshua had sat in her previous battle. This woman must be Senna's next challenge; the next member of the Elite Four. "I am Christina!" The woman's voice boomed over the loudspeakers. "I hope you're prepared to give it your all, challenger, because you'll have to temper the elements if you want to beat me!" Suddenly a loud cheer rose up from all around the arena. Senna looked up to see a flood of people filling in the empty seats of the arena. Well, it was about time. Senna turned back to Christina and grinned. It was time to battle. "Okay," she called out. "Ready when you are!" |

Gyarados began to dance somehow, but I don't know how it danced. It lack arms so it must have been very difficult unlss it just did a wave like thing where it just wiggles around. Tsunamic thought poorly of the dance as well, so it tossed a ball of sludge at the giant snake thingy and, as an added bonus, poisoned it. [66] 136/263 [+1 Atk/Spe] [PSN=32][51] 145/185

Senna looked up into the crowd, and she could've sworn she saw Guinan standing up in the nosebleed seats at the top of the stadium, but when she looked again she was gone. And it's not she could give chase now, anyway. She had a challenge to complete. Looking back towards Christina, Senna saw that the Elite Four member had already gotten over her defeat, as she waved to the crowd with a smile and then strode confidently out through the tunnel. Senna took the time to spray the weakened Stella with a Hyper Potion, restoring her vitality to pretty much full. Recalling the space gazelle after healing her, Senna closed her eyes and braced herself for another spectacularly dramatic entrance. ============================================================= Chapter Three - Mexican Moon Oh, amigo Here we do things slow Money, art, a broken heart Where did you want to go Senor, por favor to the hotel, Zona Rosa What did I come here for Oh, senor I run but the damage has been done Miles have gone away And my amore he never come I look up at the sky I am tired and dry Uno Tecate and lime. And....nothing happened. At least as far as she could tell. When she opened her eyes after a couple of seconds, she let out an audible gasp - or at least it would have been audible if not for the huge collective gasp of the crowd....below? Senna's head spun as she realized that she was about 50 feet up off the ground, seemingly standing on thin air. She stepped forward tentatively, and found the air was equally hard beneath her feet. Looking closer, Senna saw an ever-so-slightly blueish tint to the air. With a start, she realized that this was actually a very thin-but-sturdy transparent floor that had been built into the stadium, probably for occasions such as this. At this point, having overcome her surprise now that she knew what was going on, Senna became aware of an incredibly irritating sound coming from the other side of the floating stage....holy crap, was that a mariachi band? No wonder her ears were bleeding. Finally looking up, Senna indeed saw a horde of men in sombreros standing on the farthest edge of what Senna could perceive of the stage. She was tempted to call out Stella or Thorn to blast the blasted musicians off the stage and out of her ears, but her attention was drawn to the enormous mustache standing in front of the annoying band. Attached to this mustache was what appeared to be a man of short stature and large stomach, and who was also wearing a sombrero. Gazalaxy stood calmly against the large tower that now threatened it, and a field of darkness began to grow slowly around it. When Gazalaxy was completely enveloped, Totower began to make a move, but it was struck by a wave of dark energy that caused it to flinch and topple over. One! While Ricardo had held out a little longer than the others, he too had finally gone down to one final blast of flame from Eos. With a nod, the short, sombrero-sporting man clicked his sandaled heels together once, twice, and three times....and he vanished from the stage, which immediately began to lower itself back to the ground. These Elite Four people certainly love their theatrics. It must be a side effect of power. Along with the maniacal laughing....that's never a good sign. As the floor began to creep closer and closer to Senna's feet, she called out Thorn and Stella to heal the wounds they had sustained during the battle. She was just putting the finishing touches on the Full Heal for Stella when she noticed a sudden glimmer in the gazelle's sleek fur. While her fur glimmered somewhat on its own, this was different. It was almost a dull, golden glow, not unlike that of the setting sun's light passing through a rainbow....while Senna fully realized this phenomena wasn't possible, it was still the feeling the glow gave her, just from that one glimpse. Reaching out, Senna's hands found the shape of a large feather, and when she could get a good look at it she could see that it was indeed a dull golden color. It reminded her of the feather of Lugia that Rosemary tucked away in her down to protect her from special attacks. If that was Lugia's feather....maybe this is a feather from Ho-Oh? I don't know how it got on Stella's back, but if a feather from Lugia boosts defense....perhaps a feather from Ho-Oh boosts offensive power? It's worth a try.... Reaching over Stella's back, Senna found a groove at the rear base of the gazelle's horn, and she put the shaft of the feather into the groove, locking the feather firmly in place while allowing it to be seen. Stella shuddered slightly, as if feeling great power rush through her, and the Gazalaxy launched off a brilliant Ice Beam straight into the air, catching the fading sunlight beautifully. Not only was it spectacular in appearance, but it was a good bit larger and more powerful than Stella's typical Ice Beam. The feather worked. Senna's footing shook slightly as the elevated floor rejoined with the ground. She recalled Thorn and Stella, and awaited the theatrics that awaited the last of the Elite Four. She wouldn't be disappointed. A brief foray of intense strobe lights was quickly followed by blasts of green fire. As the strobes died down, the fire remained, and was soon accompanied by a massive green face, that seemed indeed to be formed from the fire itself. The face opened its mouth to speak, but Senna cut it off before it could go into any form of a lengthy monologue. "Aw, shut it," she called out. "We both know you're not the great and powerful Oz. So come out from behind the curtain and battle me!" The face smirked before dissolving into green dust, and out from behind the up-until-now unnoticed curtain at the rear of the arena stepped a tall woman in a flowing black cape, dotted with white spots that shone like little stars. "Very well," the woman said; she lacked a microphone, but her voice carried throughout the stadium. "I hope you're ready to fight!" Senna and the woman, who she finally recognized as the final elite four, Lindsey, each grabbed a pokeball - Senna from her belt, and Lindsey from a chain she wore around her neck. At the same instant, two identical pokeballs were thrown into the air. It was time to fight. |

Zero! And with that, a large green balloon emerged after an opening in the stadium floor, and Lindsey climbed on and flew off, bound inexplicably for Kansas. As she sprayed Stella with another Hyper Potion, Senna stroked the gazelle's neck. She had done an absolutely incredible job against Lindsey - the power boost from the golden feather certainly hadn't hurt, and there was little reason to believe that Stella couldn't manage the same against Drake. Still, Senna would have to her best to save her new star player for the end-game....but Senna shoved strategy to the back of her mind as she recalled Stella, realizing exactly what time it was. She'd conquered the core of the Orange Islands Elite Four. All that remained....was the Champion. As corny as it sounds, it's all come down to this. All that journeying and training, not to mention the multitude of times we've saved the world....while those are obviously more important in the big picture, I did set out on that 2-year-long journey through the OI's as a trainer, and this is a trainer's ultimate test. Keep calm. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale....if Drake goes as big with the special effects as his cronies did, I'll be an absolute basket case. Fortunately, Drake wasn't one to dabble in smoke and mirrors. He prided himself on his power, and that was all he needed. As Senna twitched nervously, a tall man wearing a black trench coat walked out of the tunnel. ....normally a man in a trench coat isn't a good sign, but this man carried himself with a dignity and poise far above that of your average flasher. Plus, he was wearing clearly-visible black slacks underneath the coat. In any case, the man, who was obviously Drake, spoke a few concise words before initiating the final battle: "You've defeated my associates handily, but I am far tougher than any of them. While you have come far and trained hard to reach this point, I'm afraid your journey stops here. Let's battle!" Not bloody likely, Senna thought in a mildly British manner. The shiny Thunderos brought its horn down upon Drake's Thunderos, but its opponent roared and sent the slightly larger Thunderos fleeing. Karozur was pissed at Thunderos, so he took his place to show him what a tough Pokémon looks like. [64] 262/262 [Battle Armor][59]  132/207 [Static]
