By the time I had reached Valencia Island, the sun had set and the air quickly cooled off from the intense heat of the day. A light breeze rustled the leaves of the palm trees and brushed against my wet skin. I shivered as the breeze brushed against me turning my very pores to ice. I made my way at a quick pace towards the Pokémon center for a place to rest and warm up. It didn't take me long to find it. After all, there were only a few buildings on the island and it's difficult to miss the red glow of the Pokémon Center's roof. By the time I reached it, I was dry enough to put on a shirt before I walked through the doors, where I was warmly greeted by the nurse on duty. Wow, even in this region all the nurses look alike. "Welcome!" She said with a cheery smile and I couldn't help but smile back as I handed over my Pokémon to her to take care of. The warmth from the lights was enough to remove the chill from my bones and I made my way over to the PC and decided to check my email. "Junk, junk, and more junk. Ugh...wait what's this?" There was one mail Titled "For your birthday" with a Pokémon attached. I need to check my mail more often. My birthday was two months ago I eagerly opened the email. It was only a couple of sentences long and it had a Lumik attached as a gift. "I hope you like the present I got you. Looking forward to seeing you again." Accepting the attached Pokémon, I freed the Lumik from its home. The air quickly filled with a chill and I could see the air around it crystallize into snow. Ah, an ice-type. It will come in handy. I had the perfect name: Everfrost. The nurse came bouncing out with my Pokémon in hand. "Who's messing with the air conditioner?" She exclaimed. "I thought I said-oh. That would explain it." Her demeanor warmed up again as she saw my Lumik stand there. "That's not something you see normally around here. Where'd you get it?" She was enthralled by the grace Lumik moved around the room, as if the very ground she walked on was but a sheet of ice. "I got it as a gift." She looked up at me and said "It is beautiful, but I'm going to have to ask you to put it back into its pokeball. There are sick Pokémon here and this cold air is not good for them." I respected her wishes and recalled my Everfrost back into her pokeball and retrieved my other two as well. "It is late, so is it ok if I stayed here until morning?" "Of course, both trainers and their Pokémon are welcome to rest here as long as they need. There are cots in the other room and extra blankets on the shelf." I nodded my thanks and laid my head down. Before I had time to ponder the mysterious gift, I drifted off to sleep. |

A bug eh?I thought to myself. I know just the Pokémon to use.I reached for the middle pokeball on my waist and tossed it with a casual flick of the wrist. The tiny Osho appeared in a flash of red and white light. "Go A'lar, use a sand-attack." I calmly stood by and watched the battle unfurl. |

Someone who uses a strategy other than just mindlessly spamming Scratch <3 You didn't pick Pyroo either! You're now my favourite player.Pipun growled at Glowurm lowering its attack, but it seems Glowurm wasn't going to actually strike this turn, and instead lauched some sticky string at Pipun, which would have severely impaired its flight ability had it hit. (5) 20/23(7) 25/25 [-1 Acc, -1 Atk]

Glowurm was hit between the eyes by Pipun's beak, when it flew forward and pummeled into the bug. Glowurm became dizzy and quickly blacked out. Pipun gains 105% exp The trainer mumbled and recalled his bug only to replace it with another. This one, however, seemed to be a bit weaker. [5]  23/23

As the caterpie tumbled to the ground I smiled in triumph. As the young lad withdrew his final Pokémon, I thanked him for the battle with a nod of my head and returned Everfrost to his pokeball. Conveniently, the Nurse was a few feet away and I handed my Pokémon over to her for a quick pick-me-up. After the team was refreshed, I stepped outside into the warm Valencia sun. I stood still, soaking up the sun's warming rays and I felt more refreshed than ever. With the laboratory looming in the distance, I decided that there was plenty of time for me to get there. I wanted to enjoy the sights and sounds of the island first. |
