Following the rather hint-stuffed weekly update from last week, we made sure that this stuffed to the brim with all kinds of juicy awesomeness! But first... Somewhere High in the Australi Mountains... Something was happening. Something was running down the steep slopes of the mountains. Its fur shone bright green in the night, illuminating the darkness that prevailed through the landscape. And yet, it was a Clarimata. It was beginning to tire, but it knew that it couldn't stop. The bright green orb bobbed on its chain around its neck, almost choking the Clarimata. But it knew it had to protect the orb. Under any circumstances. A blast of wind shattered the rock underneath Clarimata, sending it flying into a nearby cliffside. As it struggled to free itself, it froze in horror as the chain with the green orb on it slipped from its neck and fell into the dark abyss below. Pulling itself the rest of the way out of the rocky cliffside, it roared in frustration at the huge figure of Valyth streaking into the abyss below before diving in after it. Farther down the mountainside, a lone trainer stood on a cliffside. I need to find the Guardian. I have to prove myself, he thought as he looked back towards the mountain. He walked over to a nearby cliff, and reached up to the next handhold. Just as he was about to start climbing again, he heard something echo from the ravine between the cliff he was on and the next one over, and saw something small and green roll out from it. The orb! He picked it and briefly examined it. It didn't appear damaged. Tucking it into his bag, he looked around for the best way to climb down from here. A roar echoed from the ravine, and the huge shadowed form of Valyth blasted out at roughly the speed of sound, coming within a foot of knocking the trainer clear off the mountain. This was followed by another figure, a bright green glowing Clarimata. The Guardian. It appeared to be tiring. Without the orb, it must be disintegrating. Valyth turned in mid-air, froze, and let out a monstrous shriek, slicing through the mountain night. Flapping its wings once, it unleashed a huge gust of wind that blasted into the cliffside. Incidentally, it was this gust of wind that sent the unsuspecting trainer flying into the heart of the Australi Mountains. Clarimata and Valyth had both forgotten about each other at this point. They both roared, and raced in different directions back into the mountain range. Somewhere halfway across the mountain range, the trainer with the green orb got to his feet, still reeling with pain from his flight. Luckily, the snow on the mountainside had cushioned his fall. Looking up, he could see that it was probably getting ready to snow again soon. Just what I need. Drawing a black cloak over himself as to not be seen by Valyth from the air, the trainer slowly began to make his way down the mountainside. Meanwhile, sightings of the attacks had already been spread to the media, and were now airing on all of the major news channels. Ferry stations throughout the world, like those in Mikan and Navel Islands, were even offering free passage to the Australi Mountains for trainers interested in finding the mysterious 'Green Clarimata', Even for trainers who had already traveled to other regions. So, interested? NOTE: You do not need to register for this mini-event. Yes, it's finally time! After month Spoiler: click to toggle In order to make integrating them as simple as possible, we've temporarily added in a word-filter that will automatically replace the codes for the old Pokémon with those for the new ones. Once the Pokémon of all active players have been replaced, the filters will be removed. Don't worry, a few of the Pokémon received stat changes, but other than that, the movesets are staying entirely the same. We hope you guys like them as much as we do! The Box at the Top of the Universe That's right, it's finally time to add in the new Announcement Box! By this time, you should see it right above this very announcement! Don't worry, for those of you who don't like it there, we've added in a handy Expand/Collapse button in the upper-right corner of the box. As for the rest of the new features, we've outlined them below: General Info-A-Jigger: Provides you with handy links to handy places around this handy site. New Amaya Pokemon-O-Meter: Keeps you up-to-date with the newest and greatest Amaya Pokémon. Latest Announcement-MaCallit: Always updated with the latest big announcement to hit the forum. Weekly Update-O-Meter: Keeps you posted with the latest weekly updates. Swarm-O-Buzzer: Always displays the latest swarms sweeping the regions.** Map-O-Matic: Find your place anywhere in the PokeWorld - literally! Weather-A-Tron™©®ΔT: Keeps you up-to-date with frequent weather updates around the globe.* Credit for the funky new Kanto and Johto maps goes to one of our local spriters, Riceeman! And the awesomely awesome Castform sprites are brought to you by the ever talented Novoni! Thanks a lot guys! *And this brings us to our latest and greatest new feature... Wait, There's Weather? Apparently, when the God(s)/Big Bang/Flying Spaghetti Monster created the world, they put this funky thing called weather on it. Weather does many things. It grows our crops, brings us snow to frolic in, and quite frequently ruins our party plans. And it'll still be doing just that. But now, it'll be doing it in the RPG! As you've probably noticed from the above section, the new announcement box has a bar at the bottom featuring region-wide weather updates. However, a more in-depth update will be added to the bottom of every coming weekly update, including this one. Weather will have many effects on your adventuring. You can use it in your own RP posts, for example. Or if it's raining, the power of water and electric typed attacks might be increased. Or if it's sunny and hot, there might be a larger abundance of fire-typed Pokémon. Or you might get screwed over by a Ice Beam using Abomasnow in the middle of winter. Also being added in with Weather is another new feature, Swarms. Plucked straight from the fourth generation games, swarms are basically a large group of not necessarily native Pokémon in one or a few areas. Swarm updates will be featured in the announcement box, as well as with the full weather report at the bottom of each weekly update. Movin' On Up Today, we also have the proud honor to promote our fourth Global Moderator. Welcome Ace to the global moderator team (oh yeah, he goes by Gary Oak nowadays)! But, at the same time, we're sorry to have to demote thedude27 who has unfortunately left us, at least for the time being. Have You Met the Muffin Man? Alright, he's not the Muffin Man, but ImmunityBow's an important guy, both here and on his own site, Pokémon Topaz. Topaz is a fangame being built from the ground up by a devoted community, and ImmunityBow is heading that project. He's also building the two regions on this site as well, for your enjoyment (and probably his, too!). Today, I tracked him down and sat him down (metaphorically) long enough for an interview!:

Thunderstorms will start approaching from the southwest up into the main region later in the week.Johto -  Mild temperatures, with heavy rain throughout the region for the better part of the week. Clouds should begin to clear by Wednesday.Hoenn -  Muggy and warm, with thunderstorms over the mainland of the region for most of the week. The islands should be relatively clear, though.Sinnoh - Cold, with scattered snowstorms across the majority of the region. MIGHT I FINALLY GET AN ORB????? Will have to stay tuned on that. Pity I'm stuck in the middle of this Ranger thingy that nobody wants to update and never seems to allow me to make any progress when they do and I really need to stop whining about this don't I? Anyway, congrats to Ace and ooh, Boxes!, and also kewl expected introduction of Replacements, and I'll be off to enjoy my new Lunafly, Pipun, and Feramur now. *leaves* |

Just to clarify about the mini-event: To enter, you must be at Mikan or farther (at least for the moment), or anywhere in R2R. To enter, just post in the nearest Ferry topic saying you're taking the Clarimata challenge. If you'd like to change your team, include that in your Ferry post as well. Then, a moderator will be by to close your old topic, and you can make your new one in the Australi Mountains forum. |

Congrats Ace, you deserve this promotion. Maybe I should go after the Green Clarimata to be the first person with two orbs! Nah, I'm not active enough anyways. I like the announcement box, but it means my plans to hide myself from awesome Amaya Pokémon is now foiled. Fine with the replacements now, except for Karama and you know why. But yeah pretty cool and congrats again Ace. |

Well, I already said it in an IM but... congrats again, Ace! Wonderful update! Love the news box! The little weather indicators are so adorable! Also, I love the event stuff but I'll have to wait til I'm further along to partake of course haha! It's a shame I am not so great at anything that would help with Topaz, otherwise I totally would. D: I also love the replacement Pokémon, veeery nice.

Quick update: The requirement for participating in the mini-event has been stretched back to Tarroco Island. In other words, if you've reached or passed Tarroco Island, you can participate! Just post in the ferry topic in Mikan Island with any team changes, post your new topic in the Australi Mountains forum, and a mod will close your old one. |
