The air was thick and humid- Novoni could barely see through the fog as she walked through the small, dense islands and shallow waters that made up route 205. She thought she made out the small chirps of a Flickadee somewhere to her left... thinking of the small white bird made her again think of how, just a year ago, she was just leaving Tangelo and Valencia islands to start her journeys through the Orange Islands. And now here she was, a year later, but it felt like much longer than that in a way, with six out of the eight badges of the league, with a team of powerful, loyal Pokémon she wouldn't trade for the world, and still getting ever closer to being back in Zeralis. Back to her old home, and she'd look for her old friends, and her parents, and Kimba... A crack of a twig brought her back to the route and her surroundings, and she looked around, trying to see from where the sound might have come. |

Of course, it didn't help that she had decided to only bring along three of her best-trained Pokémon; that had severely limited her options. She reached for another Pokeball and clicked it open. The Apollyon that emerged shook his mane once and stared down his opponent, while his crown and necklace glittered in the faint sunlight. "Alright, Panja, let's try a Corona Ring!" Novoni said, and Panja leapt to action as his gold markings began glowing. |

:O Babystealers! I've got a waiting list, but I can add you to it XD I think burn decreases their attack stat by 75%, not just -1 atk "Good job, Aruna! So it put up a screen.... Ok, get ready for a Crunch now, aim for one of its arms!" Novoni wasn't sure how the tiger would be able to sink its teeth into solid rock, but somehow apparently the dark energy that covered them during the attack made that possible, and a psychic rock would be double susceptible to it. Who knew. |

"Alright, Panja, return again, you'll fight the next guy or something, but he's a psychic type, so Aruna can take it from here." She turned back to Aruna, who merely rolled her eyes at the rambunctious Apollyon and leapt back in front of the Totower. "Ok... you try a Crunch this time!" ooc: I had the one from Ishmadal, and then someone traded theirs to TX or something that he had two, and I traded Seregal and Paradisea with something I think for it. |

It's too bad Kirai hasn't learned any ice attacks yet... "Alright, Aruna, take a break. Kirai, you're up! Try a growl!" Novoni said, releasing the Cosmion to battle again. She was still young, and hadn't had much experience, but at least her ghost abilities would prevent her from being hit by the Talonite's powerful fighting attacks. |

The Cosmion assumed a playful bow and bared her small but sharp teeth again at the agitated Talonite. "Growl once more, Kirai," Novoni said, tossing another Pokeball idly in her hand. "Then we're going to try to switch things up a bit." |

Tch, you and your Lapras, who is actually really good and beats up on these pokemons. Anyways, Aria came out and launched a beam of ice and, because Sharoglyph are unable to solve their icing problems, got completely frozen. Then it just fainted. Lapras and Cosmion gain 5% and 40% exp Then out came Talonite, again. (35) 130/130

Somehow, Talonite's faster than Lapras, which is 13 levels stronger. It flew in, and started attacking Lapras up close and personal. It died though. I think that's it. . . Cosmion and Lapras gain some exp, you get 2100p! |

Aria clearly had issues with personal space. But the Lapras was always a force to be reckoned with. She withdrew her, and looked around. The fog was still thick... she reached for Draether's Pokeball. "Draether, can you try to blow away some of this wind, please?" The flying Pokémon nodded and sent several gusts of wind in all directions, creating a small clearing, and Novoni noticed there were several swampy plants growing around them, and she could hear the buzzing of bug Pokémon. She was never a fan of bugs... But then, she noticed a Telazure walking out of the clearing, followed by a man in a dark jacket and a large bag of what seemed to be various potions and items. The Telazure turned back to who must be its trainer (Novoni could tell it wasn't wild), and the man waved. "That's a remarkable Pokémon you have there. I am a Move Tutor, and I work with trainers to get their Pokémon to learn new techniques, if you are interested. I can teach Icy Wind, Ancientpower, or Ominous Wind." "Oh, thanks," Novoni thought for a moment, and looked to Draether. "Want to give it a shot?" Draether nodded, and she looked back at the move tutor. "Alright, can you help Draether learn Ominous Wind?" |

"Ok, so, Ominous Wind is a ghost attack, and ghosts attack primarily using dark energy, which is actually a kinda different energy that dark types use to attack, which is all just very confusing, but anyway... "Dark energy's like dark matter, it's invisible. But ghosts must be able to easily sense it... Maybe it's like aura. They say that's supposed to be invisible to most people and Pokémon, but you can see it if you focus just on the edge of someone's outline and somehow... unfocus your eyes or something. Where's a Lucario when we need one? "Anyway, the dark energy turns visible when it's focused into an actual attack... like Shadow Ball! Rune, come out!" She said, releasing the Clarimata. "Aruna, can you just launch a shadow ball at that little tree over there?" She pointed. Aruna followed her gaze, and opened her mouth as the sphere of dark energy began to form. She launched it at the tree, and it dissipated on impact. "Ok... Draether, can you pick up any of that energy and try to focus it around your wings?" |

Draether flew forward and began looking around the tree, trying to find the energy but it didn't seem to be working. Draether looked back at you and shook his head. Whatever dark energy was there once had quickly vanished. Draether would need a much larger or more permanent source of energy to focus on it. |

"No, Draether, I don't thin, you'll be able to find it like that.... you need to focus on... sensing it, I guess, and sort of absorbing it like you absorb the wind before you release it to attack," Novoni said, looking around for more ideas. "Like... see how the fog is kinda swirling all around us? The energy's probably doing that, too, but we can't see it. So picture trying to control the fog to focus into one area, but then try to do that with the energy instead." |

Draether, see if you can focus on it, then, and that's what you'll sort of 'mix' with your wind attack." Novoni said, and both Pokémon nodded, and as Aruna prepared another shadow ball, Draether stood ready, his wings and arms wide as he tried to focus on the attack. |

Clarimata shot the ball right at Draether. The wind spirit pumped it's wings as hard as it could but the dark energy eventually phased out. However, you did make some progress, so it's only a matter of time before you get it down. |
