We Need Your Help! We actually have two projects we need help for, and they're both related, so I'll go over them one at a time. First, as most of you know, the new site is going to feature a full-fleged PokeDex. To make the process of building the dex entries either, our local code monkey MechanicalMonarch has created a brilliant program that practically does the job for us. One of the most remarkable features of the dex entry builder is its learnset creator; all you have to do is input the name and level of the move, and the program takes care of the rest. However, this requires.... Read More |

The village of Svarthanes had always been a peaceful one. There had never been conflict in the village. Everybody knew their role. The villagers were content with their lives, as they were surprisingly active considering how peaceful the village was. The villagers were the happy, and this made the village a great place to live. Or, at least, that's how it used to be. The village was peaceful until one fateful day. It was not a previously cursed day. In fact, it was no day in particular. But that's how events like this usually work out. Just when society seems perfect, an unwanted force intervenes. Or, that's how it seemed to these people anyway. Twice before, their way of life had been destroyed. The first time, a hurricane from the neighboring sea nearly wiped out their entire village. The second time, they were attacked by a huge Pokémon that fought with claws of granite rock. They were determined to be ready for a third time. That's why Svarthanes was famous for its Pokémon trainers. The villagers prided themselves on their ability to train Pokémon. Their location on Zeralis, which put them on the coast of a great river and in between the mountains and the plains, made them vulnerable to natural disasters. At the same time, it put them in a great place to train many types of Pokémon. Common villagers might train Marpine and Hermog, while the village elites would train Pokémon like Vollav. The monarch of the village, known simply as the Village Guardian, trained rare Pokémon like Apollyon. Unlike most villages, where the monarch would rule over the village, this monarch spent his time training to defend the village from attackers, and possibly from nature itself. But on this day in particular, the Guardian was unprepared, and in the end, this was his downfall. The day began as usual. The farmers woke up early to tend to their crops, and the trainers had begun their morning battles. Overhead, a flock of Flockateal could be heard singing their tropical tune. But this serenity was to be the calm before the storm. The prophet of the village, known as The Prophet, was the first to see it. He had been gazing at the calm river, as he did every morning. On this particular morning, he had been gazing towards the north end of the river, or its source. This was the end of the river where the Silkrane would fly from every morning. But on this day, there were no Silkrane. In their place was a single black bird. A Paradisaea. An omen of destruction approaching from the north. The Prophet reached into his pocket and pulled out a Tauros horn, which he used to signal the village. He blew into it three times. The signal for an impending disaster. Luckily for him, the village reacted quickly. The village's top three trainers were almost instantly at the riverside with their Vollav, ready to dispose of the oncoming foe. Unfortunately for them, the Paradisaea was only a distraction from the real catastrophe. The Vollav took off and nearly instantly attacked the Paradisaea. It swerved, and used a mysterious pulse of dark energy which knocked away two of the Vollav. But the third charged forward, and sent a final blast of fire at the Paradisaea. It hit. That was the Vollav's final mistake. The Prophet turned to face the mountains. As he did, his wrinkled face went pale. On the lowest cliff of the mountain, he saw a white figure, on all fours, with gray claws and blades that were harder than diamond. It was Absogno. The omen of unavoidable catastrophe. The Absogno howled once, and lauched a mile wide blast of razor sharp wind at the village. The Vollav in the sky attempted to block it, but failed miserably, and the blast of wind destroyed the part of the village closest to the mountain. The Absogno jumped, and landed in the center of the village. As it did, a blast of wind shot out in all directions as it landed, destroying much of the village. There was only one man who could defend the village. And he was already on his way. The Guardian arrived at the village's center just as the Absogno landed. His Apollyon deflected the blast of wind by summoning a reflective mirror of light. Absogno noticed this action immediately, and did not take lightly to it. It charged at the Apollyon, and after a minute of intense battling, Absogno finally caught Apollyon off guard with a final blast of razor wind. Without his Apollyon, the Guardian was defenseless, and he dropped to the ground, shamed by defeat, as Absogno destroyed the rest of the village. Fortunately, a small group of villagers had managed to sail a boat away from the village just in time. As they saw the village explode with wind for the last time, they were oblivious to the shadow that crossed the water and made its way into their boat. From the shadow, two red eyes gazed forwards, past the rivers and the ocean to a distant island that the boat was headed towards. In its dark red eyes it saw the Orange Islands. The catastrophe is on its way. It is the beginning of the end. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update is simply to mark the impending restart of the OITRPG. Additionally, Absogno play a major role in the plot, but you'll have to stick around to find out exactly what that role is. Also, another spoiler: There could be much more to the Legend of Three than what meets the eye... But that's all I can say. Anyway, comments? |
