Mist Stone Upgrade Written By: Ventus | Category: RPG Spotlight
Have you ever wanted one of the Glitch Pokémon, but missed out on one in a Promo... or don't want to go through the tediously (Editor's note: TEDIOUSLY DOES NOT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE IT) long Orre...
We have a solution for you!
Scientists studying the Mist Stone have recently discovered that if you bring a Mist Stone in contact with various Pokémon, they will evolve beyond their final forme and evolve into what they have referred to as their "Glitch" Counterpart. Scientists have concluded that this works on Sandslash, Gengar, Butterfree, Beedrill, Houndoom, Raticate and Golduck. Unfortunately it doesn't work on Venusaur, Charizard or Blastoise...their chemical makeup seems to not align properly with the others.
The Pokémon that gain access to a Mist Stone Evolution are as follows:
-> use ->
-> use ->
-> use ->
-> use ->
-> use ->
-> use ->
-> use ->
Scientists have also noted that in evolving your Pokémon to its Glitch form, it uses the entirety of the Mist Stone, like Eevee.
Uber Hackmons! Written By: + Mandalore the Ultimate | Category: Pokémon of the Week
As summer comes to an end (well, technically it has already), so comes the end of the Hackmon series of articles. Today I'll be talking about Uber hackmons, which basically throws away the rules about which Pokémon can be used. You can go OP as hell if you'd like, and you'll be allowed to! Today I'll be doing my best to make the broken even more broken than ever before.
Ability: Wonder Guard
- Leech Seed
Chronamew's Psychic/Light typing paired with Wonder Guard means that only grass moves and Mold Breaker Pokémon can hurt it with Direct Damage. What's more, Chronamew is quite bulky and can engage in Subseed extremely easily. Taunt paired with Chronamew's 120 Base speed allows it to shut down set up Pokémon, prevent status moves from harming it, and stop forms of passive damage. Psystrike is one of the game's more powerful attacks, and allows it to play around special walls. There are a wide variety of attacking moves that could be used here, but Psystrike tends to do well against Pokémon that aren't effected by Leech Seed.
- Quiver Dance
- Shrug Off
- Dragon Pulse
- Shadow Ball
Novoni's defenses are huge, and Quiver Dance does a great job of building on her already amazing bulk while turning her into a fearsome offensive threat at the same time. Simple + Quiver Dance doubles Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed all in one turn while Shrug off keeps her healthy and steels her defense during recovery turns. Dragon Pulse and Shadow Ball are powerful STABs, which you can feel free to play around with as you like.
Gen 6 corner
Now let's look at some OI moves on Canon Pokémon:
Ability: Serene Grace
- Dark Whisper
- Other stuff
- Cold Snap
- Explosion / U-Turn / Hit and Run
The first is a simple Deoxy-S set that takes advantage of Dark Whisper. Dark Whisper has a 50% flinch chance. Serene Grace makes that 100%, and a wide lens hold item gives the move 99% accuracy. Deoxys-S is faster than every non-choice scarf Pokémon. Essentially, unless the opponent Pokémon has a concrete way of avoiding flinch or moving before Deoxys-S, it will never be able to attack.
The second has the potential to be really annoying. Spore lets you put one Pokémon to sleep instantly. When your opponent switches, you can then try to use Cold Snap. With Compoundeyes and Wide Lens, its accuracy is boosted to 77%, which means you have a greater than 3/4ths chance of freezing the switch in and putting a second Pokémon out of commission. And if Deoxys-S misses the first time, chances are it's faster than the opponent and will get another shot to freeze. From there you can set up Spikes or Explode / U-Turn out.
Of course, Uber Hackmons allows for a number of small additions to movepools. For instance, Eledra can be given Data Strike for a Glitch STAB to use before it changes types. OI's best ability for Hackmons is probably Energetic, which can fit on Pokémon with massive attacking stats but lower speed, like perhaps Astrelleo. And of course some nice OI moves to pair with Contrary would be moves like Gem Storm, Flower Power, Haymaker, and Aura Storm.
The sheer power involved in Ubers hackmon Pokémon makes it tough for a lot of new things to make a dent in the metagame, but the options above would surely be more than a little different for prospective players.

Kind of hard to interview yourself, so... Written By: Shawn0531 | Category: Community Spotlight
Hey there everyone! I'm Shawn0531 and I know you all are used to me delivering you the informative interviews you all crave every month. However, I am here to talk about something serious that has been on my mind lately, and probably all of your minds as well. I'm going to talk about the current morale as a community. Before the promotions of Leon Vane, Jack Frost, and Ventus the morale of almost every aspect of the community has been in the toilet.
All that being said, I have been given approval to plug a thread I created a few days ago. It is titled, "Let's Get to Know Each Other," so far there have been a few posts in the topic. I'll include a link to the topic at the end of this article. I feel it is important that to create a better working environment for the staff, and a more enjoyable experience for non staff members. Frankly, I'm sick of all the drama that occurs on almost a daily basis. I hate it so much I began to stay under the radar. Well, I'm sick of having to go about my business like that. I'm sure most of you are sick of entering the chat and seeing a hostile argument break out over something that probably could've been avoided in the first place.
The chat box is a wonderful place when everyone can get along and talk about a variety of topics. Right now, only few regular members come into the chat box. Some leave almost as quickly as they arrive, leaving the chat populated mainly by staff members. While the box will almost always be full of staff members, I am begging you regular people to come inside and say hello and really, make yourselves known. Hell even ask for some RPG advice, because I know most of us like to give it out freely. The staff of Orange Islands created the RPG as a product for the regular common folks. Let's not lose sight of that, so come into the chat box for a couple minutes. We need to be a real community again, or else we will die sooner rather than later.
In conclusion, there is a topic in the General Chat section of the forum that the topic I created is presently located. I implore you all to post some snippet about yourselves in it so we can get to know each other better. Maybe seeing some of the posts can enable us to see where someone is coming from during an argument and allow us to resolve the situation without a mess. Let us work to create a better environment for the site. I want to finally be free of having to walk on eggshells all of the time. I know you all do to, so we should let bygones be bygones and start fresh. I am fully willing to give a clean slate to everyone I may have argued with in the past. I expect that so can the rest of the forum. At least I hope. Provided below is a link to the, "Let's Get to Know Each Other," topic.
Thank you Orange Islands

ARRP: No Longer for Seniors Written By: Ventus | Category: RPG Spotlight
With recent changes in terms of public access to things, a few new threads have shown up in the RPG Discussion forum. These are the Canon Revamp Threads, meant to help revamp the canon (and fake) Regions we have to work a bit better within our TRPG than they currently do. Right now our biggest project is the Amayan Revamp thread. Since we're going to be discussing Amayan Pokemon within EPIC in the next few months, it's important to know how the new Amayan Level Curve is going to look in order to make the Amayan Pokemon reflect said curve. I can't really stress how important it actually is that we get this done as quick and efficiently as possible, so if you want to help, you can find the thread here: http://orangeislands...revamp-project/
Unexpected Art Spotlight! Written By: Mysterious | Art By: Chaos Shadow | Category: Art Spotlight
Hello guys, today a new member for the Art Attack, because you guys love Arts. This time we have something special all the way from canada Dragon Island and here it is.
This Dragon created by our very own Chaos Shadow. I really like the design she made, playing around with the shadows and the mysterious side of a flying fire breathing Dragon known as Charcoalt. Most people will remember Marc using this, but this is a great example to not make a Charcoalt angry, because well you can see it in his eyes, it will try to kill you probably, even if you want to hug it. So never forget those eyes people, because these eyes are showing your fear.
I would also like to point out and a shout out to a special member in the past and still one of our News team Crew. You know her as Batman, now as Lycoris. It is our own Meg. The link above is a album with her talent at drawing. She uses Art Academy 3D on the Nintento 3DS, but I still want to give that a shout out. Meg has been years active as the Art Attack Guru of Orange Islands, but never got the shout out. By this Meg. I want you to have this moment. Your drawings are great. They show a side that not many people can draw, and I don't know the Art Academy 3D game, but I am sure I will never succes in that, because I have a terrible problem with 3D. Anyway your drawings are great, they have detail, shadow and neutral colors in one picture. You deserve it.
So people of OI, this was it for today with Art Attack. We have 2 amazing drawers, we have a few awesome pictures made by Chaos Shadow and Meg, and I hope you all liked them very much. This was todays Art Attack. I am your host Mysterious and I say. STAY CLASSY ORANGE ISLANDS.
Bearer of Bad News Written By: Leon Vane | Category: Hails and Farewells
Time for a downer of an article. Our mods are great people who put in a lot of time and effort into updating this site and keeping it going. One of our mods, Beardoof, has been feeling the guilt of not meeting standards other great mods have met, and that guilt prevented him from effectively contributing in other areas of the site. As such, he has resigned from moderation duties. We wish him the best in his future endeavors. Don't be a stranger, Doof!
